Bloomsbury, the original British publisher of the Harry Potter series, has released this morning the remaining four cover illustrations for the new book editions.

Illustrated by Jonny Duddle, the covers represent a fresh and updated look for the books, and it is clear that they were drawn with the intention of appealing to a new, younger generation of readers. These editions, which will be released all at once on September 1st, will be the first ever to integrate content from J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore. Highlights from the interactive website will be included, as well as back cover instructions to tell readers how can they access more of this information on the web.

In an interview with MuggleNet, the illustrator Jonny Duddle has revealed that we can expect additional illustrations to be featured on the back covers. A map drawn by a different artist will also be part of the set.

These new editions must not be mistaken with the new illustrated editions that the publisher announced earlier this year. Next year, Bloomsbury will publish the first ever fully illustrated color edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Currently a work-in-progress by artist Kim Kay, the other titles in the series will be published annually from then on.
