As part of the big expansion underway, Universal has added “Interactive Wands” at both Wizarding World of Harry Potter lands. Visitors will be able to move with their wands certain objects allocated in windows across Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.

Universal updated its official blog Tuesday morning. “With the correct incantations and motions, you’ll be able to cast spells throughout The Wizarding World of Harry Potter with new Interactive Wands that you can purchase from Ollivanders wand shops in both Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. You’ll also get a map that marks all the locations where you can put your new wand to use.”

Bronze medallions embedded in the street will mark the shop windows where fans can cast spells. From Winwardium Leviosa to Lumos, the objects will react accordingly when making the correct wand movements.

In a cool new video, Bonnie Wright and the Phelps twins demonstrate how the Interactive Wands work. Click on the image above to watch.

An official Grand Opening date for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley has not been established yet, but it is expected to be open for the general public by the end of the month. Universal has invited selected members of the press for a VIP preview this week in Orlando. Expect new information soon!
