20th Century Fox has released the first official synopsis for the film formerly-called Frankenstein, starring internet favorites Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy.

The studio has just retitled the film Victor Frankenstein, which will be a re-tale of the classic Mary Shelley novel, this time around from Igor’s perspective. The official synopsis reads:

James McAvoy is Victor Von Frankenstein and Daniel Radcliffe stars as Igor in a unique, never-before-seen twist on Mary Shelley’s classic 19th century novel. Told from Igor’s perspective, we see the troubled young assistant’s dark origins, his redemptive friendship with the young medical student Victor Von Frankenstein, and become eyewitnesses to the emergence of how Frankenstein became the man—and the legend—we know today.

The movie’s been directed by Paul McGuigan, who’s previously worked on Sherlock and was shot in the UK earlier this year.

Originally set for a January 2015 release Fox pushed back the film 9 months and it will now be released on October 2nd, 2015. Being a horror-oriented movie this is largely considered to be a positive sign of the film’s potential, with October being the summer of horror pictures.
